Loops

Marketing and lifecycle email built for SaaS — campaigns, event-driven automations and transactional, priced by contacts rather than sends.

Loops is an email platform built specifically for SaaS. It's where I run the mail a product chooses to send: onboarding sequences, lifecycle nudges and broadcasts. The pitch is a clean, modern editor and a data model built around your app's events — and it's rated 4.9 on Product Hunt, which tracks with how nice it is to use.

What it does

  • Campaigns — one-off broadcasts (announcements, newsletters) to a segment of your audience, composed in a block editor.
  • Loops — the automations the product is named after: event-triggered sequences (welcome series, trial nudges, re-engagement) that fire off contact properties and events you send in.
  • Transactional — API-triggered system email, included on paid plans at no extra per-send cost, so you can consolidate here if you prefer one vendor.
  • Contacts & data — an audience keyed on your own events and properties, so segmentation reflects real product behaviour rather than static lists.

Pricing model

The thing to understand about Loops is that pricing is based on subscribed contacts, not send volume — so growing your audience is the cost driver, not emailing it more.

  • Free — $0, up to 1,000 contacts and 4,000 sends/month. All features included, with a Loops branding footer.
  • Paid — scales with contact count (there's a slider to estimate). Unlimited sends, no branding footer, and transactional included. Team seats are free — invite everyone at no extra charge. Custom plans on request.

No credit card is required to start on Free.

Why it's my marketing pick: the contact-based model rewards actually sending to your audience, the event-driven Loops make lifecycle sequences straightforward, and free team seats mean the whole team can work in it. I pair it with Resend for the transactional half.
